Finally...

 

Finally...after days of packing, buying, re-packing and final packing...we are fully packed!!

Final luggage weight: jeff's - 16.5kg & mine - 12.9kg. We started with an initial weight of 7-8kg each..then "the backpack looks empty, we can bring more.." hehe...so here we are!

We are rather glad to be leaving for Bangalore tonight cos we have been spending quite a bit of $ when we were on leave last week. Visas, vaccinations, trips to beach road army mkt - more fancy stuffs to buy, pharmacy - more medicine to bring, bookstores - more guides/maps to buy made us spend more than what we probably ever need. haha..we had fun though. Even visit to the packed China Embassy to apply for visa was fun. Little experience of what we may probably get if we go China...

An ang mo fren of ours asked if our parents think we are crazy going for the trip cos it's a very un-Singaporean thing to do. We told him that they are more worried about our safety than no work, no pay and no kids! So while we head on, it's our siblings job to double up on kids making while we are away...hahaah..

We would like to thank all the frens & colleagues who have generously shared with us tips and information of the different countries, experiences that they have in particular Dunlin & Sean who hosted us amidst caring for their newborn, Yi Ken! Xie xie ni men. We are inspired by the 2 of you! =)

We are very happy and sad at the same time that its finally time for us to start our journey. Will definitely miss our families, friends, local food, our comfy bed, air-con, cable tv, soccer news(only jeff)....

Helena says we are going to miss many milestones when we are away...indeed! While most of our frens are bz taking care of their young ones or going to have their little ones soon, we are leaving behind the comfort and convenience of home to embark on the next chapter of our life..Chapter 3 of Mehhu, stay tune!
