Goa – Motorcycle Diary 17 – 19 Mar

Jeff: Thank you for the Bday wishes!

After walking for days in the first few cities, it was great to rent and ride a motorcycle in Goa. The rental was cheap at only S$6/day! We rode down south and up north of Goa for two days, lazing at beaches, checking out places that Rough Guide recommended for food and was even stopped by a local police! Apparently, it’s very common to be checked. So do not ride without International Driving License in Goa. Luckily, we were prepared and got it before we left S’pore.

A lot of fellow travelers that we met recommended a few beaches that we ought to go. They were more or less the same to us. Hehe. Basically, nuar! Except some were more crowded with tourists and hawkers trying to sell shawls, jewellery, fruits, books etc.

Lying under the lukewarm sun reading, daydreaming & scribbling, it felt great! Great to know that when we wake up tomorrow, we are still on a holiday!! Date and time seems to be of very low significance daily except when we need to get train ticket… On the signboard of the place where we were sun tanning, it says, “Where… Time takes a break!”

It was funny to learn that a lot of you have taken noticed of Jeff’s unshaven face. Yes, it was left intentionally as he wanted to look fierce in case of trouble while travelling. Now that more people are noticing, he’s taking efforts to maintain and keep them in good shape. Haha..Check out the pics and keep the comments coming.

Sleeping on the middle deck on the train from Cochin – Goa.

  4. Wat yummlicious food! I can't wait to go to India too!

Jeff, I think you also need to look a little darker before you achieve the effect of scaring people away. The facial hair itself isn't going to help much!
